A friendly football match between the national teams of Mexico and Portugal took place in Mexico City. To ensure security and order, a large-scale operational plan called 'Safe Stadium' was implemented. Personnel from the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) conducted constant patrols before, during, and after the match, enforcing compliance with regulations. Authorities also monitored that businesses did not sell alcohol to minors and respected permitted hours. As part of this operation, several individuals were detained in the vicinity of the stadium on suspicion of ticket reselling. Tragically, the event was marred by an incident: minutes before kickoff, one fan died after falling two levels from the stadium's box seats. According to initial reports, the 27-year-old man was intoxicated and attempted to jump from the second to the first level from the outside. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he died from his injuries. The Government of Mexico City expressed its condolences to the victim's family and stated that the corresponding authorities are already conducting the necessary investigations.
